Ed Batchelor, CPM is President of TradeMark Residential, a full service residential property management and brokerage company. Ed graduated from East Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. A native of Spring Hope, North Carolina, he now resides in Raleigh. He has two children.
Having over 35 years of experience in the management of multi-family housing, Ed has the proven ability to maximize the potential of the real estate and property personnel including: financial performance, resident satisfaction, property maintenance, acquisition/ disposition/ development, condominium conversions, employee recruitment/training/retention/engagement and vendor performance and procurement.
His experience includes 13 years with a national Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT). Ed has managed single family homes, condominiums and multi-family communities ranging from 4 units to 930 units.
While in Bethesda, Maryland, Ed was Vice President of Artery Property Management. There he oversaw the management of 5,500 multi-family units. He partnered with corporate groups to establish a “Rent-To-Own” Program as well as a Customer Service Program for residents. He also prepared the portfolio for the sale to Equity Residential, a company he later joined.
As a Senior Regional Manager with Equity Residential, Ed supervised up to 3,595 multi-family units in North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Maryland. His portfolio was consistently ranked in the top 5% of the Equity Residential regions for overall performance.
Ed’s portfolio average audit scores exceeded 94% in 2004, 2005 and 2006. Included in this portfolio was the only 100% audit achieved at Equity Residential.
Ed is a member of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), Chapter 105. He received his Certified Property Manager designation from IREM in 1982. He is a member of the Triangle Apartment Association in Raleigh, North Carolina where he served as a Board Member in 1999, 2000 and 2006, and also served as Treasurer in 2000. Ed obtained his North Carolina Real Estate License in 2008. He obtained the Housing Credit Certified Professional (HCCP) designation from the National Association of Home Builders in 2009. Ed is also an adjunct professor for the Real Estate Department at Saint Augustine’s College in Raleigh, North Carolina, where he teaches property management courses.BACK TO OUR PROFESSIONALS
